Women and girls as victims of violence, trafficking and exploitation

Gender-based violence occurs in many different forms, from trafficking for sexual exploitation and all kinds of violence in intimate relationships to violence in public spaces and sexual violence as a weapon of war. Further, genital mutilation and forced marriage are among the most serious acts of violence against women and girls.

These are serious forms of human rights violations that take place in the midst of our society. The seminar aims to educate about the different forms of violence against women and girls, forced marriage and genital mutilation.

It presents research results, explains possibilities of prevention and prosecution with practical examples.
